Public Art Fund: 40th Anniversary

In this film, created as part of the Public Art Fund's 40th anniversary celebration, the internationally renowned artist and activist Ai Weiwei discusses his immersive citywide exhibition, "Good Fences Make Good Neighbors. Inspired by the global refugee crisis and the recent rhetoric surrounding the issue of border control, "Good Fences" is a groundbreaking exhibition compised of more than 300 individual artwork. The range from multi-story fence structures, to converted bus shelters, to banners portraying current and historical refugees, intervening throughout all five boroughs of New York City.
