Public Art Fund: 40th Anniversary

Public Art Fund

PAF40

In 2017, we created this twelve-part documentary series celebrating Public Art Fund's 40th anniversary, debuting one film a month throughout the year. SW creative director Rachel Wolff conceptualized the entire series that featured five exhibition films and a series of thematic retrospective pieces that each explored a different aspect of PAF's story and mission but bringing in fresh perspectives from the public as well. The series culminated in a full 17-minute documentary deep-diving into the full history of the institution.

In the October installment, the internationally renowned artist and activist Ai Weiwei took us through his immersive citywide exhibition, Good Fences Make Good Neighbors. Inspired by the global refugee crisis and the recent rhetoric on border control, "Good Fences" was a groundbreaking exhibition comprised of more than 300 individual artworks.

Check out that exhibition film at right and then scroll down to view the rest of the series.
